All fine and dandy that they're putting in new features...

Yeah I know Apple's policy on low pricing to sell hardware and I think it's brilliant.
I'm not complaining. On more than one occasion they forced the competition to offer more for less in order to compete and that's a great thing from a consumer perspective.
I don't know why they drop the software after a while though, discontinuing Shake didn't make any sense.
I think once Apple saw just how deep down the post production rabbit hole they'd have to go to meaningfully support and develop Shake they decided it would be too much effort for too little return so bye-bye Shake. It was too much of a niche w/in a niche for Apple, IMO.

Hey,
I have noticed my iphone 4 gets hot after recording for more than 2 mins, and it also heats up when taking pictures. However, it only heats up towards the right of the front speaker (it heats up on the front top right corner) on the phone. It heats up on the front, where the camera is situated directly beneath it. It is not unbearably hot. Anyone else have this problem? Is this normal?

$75 for a website template?? Doesn't sound like your charging nearly enough money. That should be closer to $400 IMO.
When I pay for logo design or a website, I pay by the job. I usually get a quote before we begin. I paid $100 for a logo design.

But in it led me to buying a 300C instead - and after hearing about stuff on vwvortex I really didn't feel bad about that decision. As for the 5cyl, it is competent but I don't see the point to it - people should be buying a TDI instead, and the 5cyl is a noisy odd engine. >>

HAving moved from an iPhone 3G to an HTC Desire then recently to an iPhone 4, I have to say iOS is just a slicker, faster (in operation), more straightforward phone operating system. Android doesn't suck but it's a slapped together fiddle-fest by comparison.
However, people now see a 10 month old iPhone VS. ungainly 4.3 inch, dual-core, Android superphones and, as we know in the tech world, big numbers usually mean bigger sales.
Apple doesn't need to worry about Android getting big (it's going to dwarf the rest as you can get a low-end Android phone on a �15 contract these days) but does need to stay in touch with the top-tier Android phones else it can not longer bask in a 'Mercedes of phones' status.
This means faster updates (ideally a 4inch '4s' should have been out by now) and, radically, sqeezing GSM functionality into the iPod Touch making it a 'phone if you want it to be' and thus tackling the Android low-end while still being a premium product.

I too am forced to use Lotus Notes at work. Maybe it hasn't been "implemented properly" in my office, but it is a horrible, awful thing. Even common commands are hidden deep inside nondescript menus and any attempt at customizing anything ends with frustration. I would hope that this bloated piece of software crap stays far, far away from the Mac platform forever.

Setup a Static IP address in your Xbox settings by going to network settings and switching to Manual rather than auto. The easiest way to get rid of NAT problems is to host your xbox on a DMZ, which you do by going to your routers settings and entering in the IP address you just assigned to your xbox.

Well you talk about fairness, I don't think its fair that your studies are funded by the government and mine are not, even though I will be working directly for the government in the very near future. And, its not fair to me that you may very well benefit directly from my work in several ways. For example, say you come to America for a holiday, and you are mugged. It would be my job to help get the guy responsible for your mugging and to be able to put you back to your position before you were mugged, at no cost to you because you are not an American citizen and don't pay taxes. So, I feel toat you owe me money because that would be fair. I know i'm making money as an attorney, but so is Loren on the many, many other projects he has going on for him. Its only fair that we are both compensated justly for everything we do, right? Just like you would want to be compensated by me if I came to your country and needed medical help, it would be nothing out of my pocket, and that doesn't seem fair to you personally doing something without just compensation.
My point is, each of us has our own lives to support, because really when it comes down to it, no one else is giving us a free ride...well except for you and thats not really fair. Well then to educate you, in America, no one gets a free ride. We're all for ourselves here, and then we have to pay taxes up the ass for the people on welfare who mooch off of the welfare system without really doing anything. No ones gonna help me with my law school loans even though the work I am doing will benefit many, many people. I will get a small government salary (criminal prosecutors do not make a lot of money at all, thats why so many attorneys try to go to private practices and big law firms, to make that 6 or 7 figure income). Does that seem fair? No.
Loren is gonna be ok, whether he had charged for Tweetie 2 or not. He has many other things going on, many other products, and he gets paid for those lectures he does. The guys who created youtube didn't charge people to access the videos hosted on their site for free, or charge people each time they updated their servers and software, yet they are rolling in the dough. In America, we thrive on customer satisfaction. I personally do not feel Loren did enough with Tweetie 1 in satisfying his customers before going ahead and charging full price for an "update." And his excuse that Apple didn't provide an upgrade path is a cop out. I read his tweet on the decision; he did it because he "had the balls to do it." He should at least go back to Tweetie 1 and upgrade that as much as possible until he can't anymore. He stated that he wanted to do things to Tweetie that were impossible to do without rewriting the app from scratch. Thats fine, but you can't leave your old customers out in the cold like he did. People paid for Tweetie 1 without knowing that Loren would be pulling this stunt off. Thats not fair to them, they deserve to be satisfied, they paid a fair amount and got ditched, bamboozled, baited and switched. This is my first post. It takes a lot for me to stop being a lurker, but the idea that any user can resize a textarea on a site I design, dynamically redrawing the page, is among the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. This will break valid page layouts in new and unheard of ways. Designers make form elements a size and shape for a reason.
I look forward to finding a way using JavaScript to disable that feature the day that browser is released.
I think it's a nice feature, it's not like it's going to destory how the page looks initially.
