Then, this afternoon I finally found a copy of Phantasy Star Portable 2. It came out today, but almost no stores are carrying it. Which is a shame, because I absolutely LOVE the Phantasy Star Online series. I've already put over 10 hours into the demo alone.

Yeah while Apple realizes people want their mobile smartphone to be small and portable as that is a key part of the puzzle the rest of the industry is trying to duplicate this:

Yep, yep, I figured that bit out. I was looking for the flexible page/quadrant stuff - to print in "booklet" form, for example. It aint in Word for Mac.
My recollection is that Word for Windows doesn't have it either. I have no way to verify that right now, though, since I don't have a Windows computer here on the premises.
If you're willing to suck it up and go to a copy shop, though, then it's a moot point; you can just design it as a normal document and have them bind it on double-sized paper. (Example: they can fold 11" x 17" sheets into a 8.5" x 11" booklet.)

She glows! I really like this just as it is, but I was thinking the same thing as Rowbear. How would it work if you went even lower, so the camera was looking up at her just a little?
I'll try and remember that next time I shoot. I also think maybe just a little lower probably would have been more dramatic. Toddlers/young kids are a blast to shoot with when they get along good. I'm getting better at coaching them to be nice more so than when I started!

I'm leaning towards MacPhone for the Blackberry/Treo/PocketPC killer with an embedded/lite version of Mac OS X.
Remember, any Apple product using Mac OS has to have "Mac" in it's name from now on per SJ.
So consumer iPhone and MacPhone, or, MacPhone and MacPhone Pro, if the consumer phone has an even more slimmed down version of Mac OS X on it.

Boot Camp is not virtualization, by any definition. (And no, there's no way Microsoft or anyone else could argue that it is.)
I know that Bootcamp is not virtualization. What i am saying is that to run the OS in Bootcamp and a copy in parallels (legally) you would need to by the business or premium edition (or whatever they are called).

I'm not trying to downplay the event - this is a major incident, one numerous potential consequences, both positive and negative. On the one hand Obama will gain some political capital from this - and deservedly so, as he is commander-in-chief of the armed forces. It is, however, important to remember that the hunt for bin Laden predates his presidency. He can't be expected to take either full blame or credit for the "War on Terror", such as it is.
I'm ultimately rather ambivalent about the affair. Killing a bad man neither undoes what he as done, nor justifies everything we've done over the last decade of pursuing him and his organization. Politicians and partisans will bicker and squabble over who gets the credit, but there really is less credit to go around than the media would have us believe. We'll all wake up tomorrow with the same problems we had before bin Laden died.

OMG....I would NEVER take information as fact from an "ATT customer service agent". I have received so much wrong info or even been dare I say lied to, I would never trust what a random ATT rep said.
Not to mention, the service reps are so far down the chain of command, they would not have info on when the next iphone is being released.
Yes, once I called AT&T to get information on my partner discount. I called three times and got three different answers. I called about which data plans could be used with my Treo 680 -- I called three times and got three different answers. The moral of the story is: If you don't like what the AT&T rep says just keep calling back until you get the answer you want.

I heard the same thing about Osama Bin Laden from the guy behind the counter at my corner mini-mart. He just got off the phone with the President when I walked up to the counter. Normally I would not believe him, but he stated it as a matter of fact, so I knew it was true.

He knows that the young Google founders whom he was helping and mentoring stole some of his company's best ideas and are now helping his competitors to take the market share that he intended to consume. It always sucks when somebody steals from you and then uses it against you -- especially when its the folks you consider your partners or allies. I'm sure there is more to the story, but I am pretty sure that's how Steve Jobs views it.
I do agree, however, that the smartphone market growth we are seeing with Android is primarily made up of folks who are not interested in having a smartphone but are just picking up the best free or ultra-cheap phone. These phones are typically running a generation-old version of the Android OS and the folks who purchase them are really only interested in their phone ringing when a call comes in (i.e.: if they won't pay for a phone, then they won't pay for an app, and therefore are not tied-to the Android ecosystem).
Also, the PC vs Mac war that Apple has supposedly "lost" has left them being the most profitable PC maker in the world (just counting Mac sales). That's pretty amazing considering they are not #1 on revenue or units sold, but they still make more profit than the folks selling commoditized PCs. Not a bad "consolation prize" for "losing" the PC war. Note that as the PC market is declining, Macs are still showing phenomenal gains.
Secondly, let's not ignore that Apple is still the mobile OS leader worldwide when you count iPod Touch and iPad. Their current dominance with iPad is overwhelming and those buyers are not getting a free or BOGO offer like the folks picking up Android smartphones. Those folks are going to buy apps and buy-in to the iOS ecosystem.
Finally, the smartphone market will very likely not play out like the PC market. Greg Cox wrote a very good piece (http://expletiveinserted.com/2011/04/30/the-emperors-new-network-effects/) on the differences on his blog.
As a consumer I am both grateful and weary of the competition. Having a dominant Apple would help put pressure on the publishing companies and Hollywood (I hate publishing and movie industry folks trying to get me to pay for the same content over and over again). Competition tends to accelerate development in that it gives you somebody to set pace with and hence we probably get one or two extra features out of every iPhone release and iOS update. I don't think competition drives Apple the way it drives others though. Apple tends to have a proactive plan for the future of their devices that they probably make minor deviations from based on competition. Whether their plan is good (iPhone, iPad), lack-luster (MobileMe) or bad (Ping), they tend to stick to it.
Personally, I wish Microsoft's mobile OS or Web OS was doing better than Android though. I heard some radio jocks this morning say that they think this whole Charlie Sheen thing is a bit. Kinda like the whole Joaquin Phoenix thing or a radio shock jock who just goes way over the top. Of course the partying and lifestyle is real, but they were talking about this present media tour and the crazy talk he's spouting. It all equals more publicity for him, the network, and the show.
After thinking about it this explanation sounds pretty reasonable. If it's not that, then as many have said he's had a break with reality of some sort and the eventual end is not going to be pretty.
All you need to do is look at him to know that it's not a show. He definitely wants publicity, but I don;t think it's going to get him the results he wants. Most people I know are horrified and of the opinion that he just ruined his career. I have to agree.

Don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I didn't care about Apple's market share when it was slipping in the 90s and I don't care about it now that it's climbing. I didn't buy my Mac to be popular and I don't particularly care that lots of people are (or are not) using them. It's just an irrelevant metric to me.

Once you are a market leader, it's almost impossible to be unseated in that market unless you make a lot of mistakes. It comes down to top-of-mind awareness. When you think portable music, what is the first thing you think about? iPod. 90% of consumers will buy from the brand with the #1 top-of-mind awareness, and it goes down steeply from there.
Apple needs the competition in order to evolve better products, but it's not a huge threat in terms of Apple losing the top spot. It may lose a few points of market share, but it will certainly continue to lead the market no matter how much cash Microsoft throws down. Apple is simply better at marketing, better at making things cool, and those are the two things that have made the iPod a success -- two things that, I might add, Microsoft is terrible at.
