Those who bought the 5.5g ipods lately probably are going to feel bummed.
Can't speak for the others, but as a happy new 80GB iPod owner, I wouldn't be bummed. A new iPod doesn't make mine any less great!

I don't know if I'd even want them to bother if it's only going from 3.5 to 3.7. Doesn't seem like the difference would be noticeable.
I just hope they don't call it the 4s. Just use sequential numbers so we don't have model confusion again like the 3g/3gs caused with people expecting 4g to be next.

I recall the count down on Apple's homepage, waiting for it to come out. Several days after Mac OS X's release, my Power Mac G4 (which still runs) would arrive, and I slapped in a second hard drive so I could have OS 9 on one hard drive (20 GB) and Mac OS X on the other (15 GB).
I quickly made good use of Mac OS X's UNIX internals by making a PHP-Apache-MySQL project for a class. I made Mac OS X my primary OS pretty much from Day 1. I believe Photoshop was one of the last major programs I needed to launch regularly from Classic.

Maybe to let us know they're not just cracking down on iPhone owners?
And also maybe to suggest that "open" isn't all it's cracked up to be. The promise of an open system doesn't always play out in the real world. It works well for geeks who know what they're doing, but for the average consumer it can create a big headache (inadvertently installing a rogue program, for instance). It's a trade-off: more freedom vx. more stability.

I don't understand why the register even opened if the transaction was not complete. If the kid rang up the Ipad at $499 the plus the applicable state tax, you gave him the cash on hand, the register still should have required the balance from the credit card? The register in the my opinion should not have even opened up? Much less print a receipt saying the full price was paid?
The only way I can this happening is if the kid keyed in the exact amount of the purchase price as cash.
It sounds like that's exactly what happened. the cashier thought the OP handed him exact change & just keyed in the full amount as cash.
The cashier certainly bears some of the blame for the error, but the OP was fully aware of the error from the start and did nothing to correct it.

Wait, so is it showing up again in your Connect360? Try and call the cops the minute is shows up.

If parents live there with the teenager(s), just ask them if their kid just got a 360 and if they would mind if you compared serial numbers to your receipt, since its showed up in range of your wireless network.
Don't blame the kid, but be like, well maybe another kid sold it to him or something.
I don't know about them, but at least my parents would have my ass up there in an instant with my 360 even if I had it for over a year lol. I don't even want to think what would have happened to me if it was yours.

So, I'll tell you what, I'll let all this go if you just hand it over. If he denies it, just be like, okay, well, I'm taking this (log sheet) to the cops, and I can peg the IP address to you. Are you sure you don't want to do just give it back?

Every time the 360 shows up on my network, I take a walk around the neighborhood and see who is home, who has a glow from a TV in their window, etc. The cops are working on background info on both houses to try and get a warrant. It seems there have been other break-ins in the area and they are hoping to catch the guy (or girl) who has been doing it. Right now, my 360 showing up on my network has been the biggest lead they have gotten because it narrows down the area by quite a bit. They don't want me to go knocking on doors because they are afraid they will either ditch all their stolen stuff if they know the cops are on to them or just lay low until it all blows over and then start again.
Its been really hard knowing that my 360 is within 500 feet of my house and having a damn good idea of who did it and not being able to do anything about it. The cops hope they will be able to do something soon but every day that goes by, I fear I will not be getting my XBox back just a little more. :(

I will never buy an AMD computer again, especially in a laptop. AMDs are very hot processors and they require big fans(I learn that from my bro's Compaq), which make them thick and heavy.
It would be best for me if we could of kept PowerPC, developed a lower powerconsuming but stil powerful G5, or Xenon(chip in XBOX 360). But intel is still got...PPC for LIFE

Not quite. The data collection dialog was separate from the EULA agreement and was a voluntary opt-in. Whether you chose to opt-in or not did not affect how your device operated.
Personally, I opted-in. I have no problem helping Apple to maintain their location database.
Are you sure it was separate? Regardless, my point was that most people blindly click through those things (me included) and then get all mock-outraged when something comes up that was in the small print. It's taking a lot on trust to just click 'Accept' and most of the time it's OK... But check out the South Park episode for how it could go wrong..! :)
I didn't say that opting in to the crowd sourced database affected your device, I'm saying that now that the tin-foil hat brigade have an option to completely disable this cached database file, _that_ could affect performance for things like Maps because it will have to calculate position from new data every time.

I think the best is the Apple TV. I mean seriously. They did all that and didn't require you to get new hardware. Good one for Apple.
