you really dont know what you talking about. less competion means apple is winning and consumers are loosing.
Sorry, but how am I losing if I'm using the product that I want? Why should I emotionally invest myself in the success of other companies that are not catering to my needs or interests? If they create a better product then they deserve success but not just by offering an inferior alternative.
Why wouldn't you count those as games? They are available for Android. They are not available on iOs.
Are you serious? So you would count all of the PC games that can be run under VMWare as Mac games? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? They are not available for android. The emulator is available on Android but the games are not.

I didnt realize a release date was set:cool:
It wasn't. This is just a made up story.
In fact, I have it on good authority that there most definitely will not be an iPad 3 released until next year. It comes from the same person that makes this other stuff up.
Actually, given the supply constraints of just display parts (which impact all manufacturers), the popularity of the existing iPad 2 and the indications that Apple may start paying its suppliers more for parts to insure it can manufacture existing product, there is no reason for Apple to come out with an iPad 3 this year. That's just made up BS.

Can only be 1 reason, Apple are worried.
If they felt totally confident in their product then they would not feel any threat from others and need to try something like this on.
or they felt their patents and copyrights were being infringed on. but since it's apple, like always, you like to twist the matter...
If Apple cannot beat them....they sue them. Way to go Apple, you are devoid of morals and innovation.
When can we officially say that Apple is now the New Microsoft?
lol see above. your posts are funny cos you just sound like a deluded nutter... keep them coming, you're so wrong but funny to read :)
look at the comparison pics, the samsung phone looks just like a cheap knockoff of the iPhone. people sue people for ripping off their things, thats life. What makes me laugh is the people that are adamant the phone does not look like the iPhone needs their eyes testing! even my mum thought the samsung phone was an iphone at first.

That took awhile.
Samsung, that's what you get from trying to kill the golden egg goose. Hopefully apple follows through by moving to TSMC.

I think the iMac will take care of gamers and builders.. the mac pro is NOT a gaming device, it is a high class workstation that is designed for use with using and manipulating multi-threaded pro and audio apps.
Yeah but it is the fastest "gaming" device Apple sells so...
The stock 5770 is faster than the iMac 27". The iMac has always had pathetic graphics. It is never paired with a card that can actually play a game in the res native to the screen your playing on. You always have to down res to get any AA or heavy shadows. This is unacceptable for any respectable gamer. I play on a smaller screen specifically because I want everything dot to dot. The graphics chip is soldered to the motherboard, also not ever going to be cool.
On the Mac side my Pro functions as a fancy pants Xeon workstation and on the Win side it performs as a Core i7 980x and 5870 should perform and that is a damn respectable gaming rig. The less capable machine is never seen as ok for gaming. For me to think of iMac 27" they'd have to ship it with at least a 5870 if not a 6970 to ever hope to get 2560x1440 res in game. The heat alone would melt that case in a couple months:)

If we dont see it all on Tuesday. What is the longest Apple can wait? And why would they choose to wait?
I could see Apple waiting a while (at least through the back to school season) while the prices on the Yonah processors plummet, and Apple's laptop profit margin skyrockets to even higher levels. I'm guessing Merom's in the MBP and iMac in September (along with the new nano), just in time for the holiday shopping season.

hahahaa... ROFL...
this guy is a fool...
i wonder if creative said the exact same thing back in 2001 reguarding mp3 players?
And so was then-Sony head Nobuyuki Idei, who turned down Steve Jobs' business proposition to bring them aboard on ITMS. No, Sony frackin' insisted on going with Connect.
And so was Commodore back in the 1980s when they so arrogantly believed they didn't need to advertise or honor their cooperative advertising agreements with their dealers, or really help to grow and support their dealers, since "We are Commodore! People will come to *us* for computers!"
So many stupid people... so little time...

good morning Wclyffe.
question on your comment about BlueAnt. I too have used BT Blueant and loved it. When I got the iPhone it would not, however, recognize my contact list, BUT would let me talk and listen to a phone call I originated on the iPhone.
With the tomtom dock, if the BT isn't acceptable per the above comments, how would I use the BlueAnt?
With the car kit I assume handsfree dialing still requires either holding iphone button and doing voice dialing or favorite list or contact list. BlueAnt of course allowed one touch button and "call so and so" command.
Appreciate clarification.
Have you done anymore review of the Navigon car kit?
thanks,
Mike
Is it an iPhone 3Gs? I have no problem with Voice Control recognizing my contacts list. I just press the button on the BluAnt and voice control is activated. Not sure why that isn't working for you.
I think we just do not pair the the iPhone to the dock via bluetooth, but instead pair the BluAnt that way. The GPS chip should be connected to the phone via the dock connector. Right?
Yeah, that makes sense which is why I'm going to likely keep my BluAnt for calls as its so easy to hit the button on the visor and use Voice Control. I can't believe its as easy using the car kit, but we'll see.
No, as the Navigon is just a simple mount with no electronics (GPS chip, bluetooth, etc).

It's spending on investment rather than spending on consumption.
This is a key point to the growing inequity of wealth in America. The rich have surplus funds that they are able to invest, while the poor, and a growing number of people are spending all of the income on consumption.
In 2007 Zhu Xiao Di wrote a report for the Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies title, Growing Wealth, Inequity, and Housing in the United States [PDF] (http://www.jchs.harvard.edu/publications/markets/w07-1.pdf)
Abstract
The rapid growth of household wealth in the United States has been accompanied by drastic growing inequality. This paper discusses both wealth and inequality growth, examines demographic factors behind the growth, and analyzes housings role in it, using the Survey of Consumer Finances data collected by the Federal Reserve Bank. While aggregate household net wealth grew from $25.9 trillion in 1995 to $50.1 trillion in 2004 (both in 2004 dollars), nearly 90 percent of the net gains occurred only among the top quartile of households in the wealth distribution. Although housing wealth (both home equity and housing value) was still more evenly distributed than other types of wealth, it largely served to widen the wealth gap rather than to narrow it during the last decade.
In this report, he clearly illustrates the difference between household net wealth and household income.
Wealth Inequality and Household Net Wealth Growth
It is well known that the distribution of household net wealth is even more unbalanced than that of household income. Net wealth is defined as all assets net out all debts. In the top quartile of the household net wealth distribution held the lions share87 percent (or $43.6 trillion) while the bottom quartile of households had nothing. The upper and lower middle quartiles combined held $6.5 trillion, or 13 percent of total household net wealth (see Chart 1).
http://www.interfaith.org/forum/members/citizenzen-albums-album-picture1305-screen-shot-2011-04-16.png
As he says in the report, "In other words, the bottom 28 million of American households in 2004 had nothing once their debt is netted out ..."
The difference between inequalities in wealth and income is quite natural, as one is from a stock perspective and the other is from a flow perspective. Low income households have to spend most or all of their incomes on life necessities with little capability of saving and investment so they can hardly accumulate any household net wealth. Thus they often remain in the bottom distribution of household wealth with nothing; the exception is the group of low income senior households who recently fell into the low-income category due to retirement and the loss of income. In short, while the bottom quartile of income distribution still has income, the bottom quartile of wealth distribution does not have any wealth net of debt.

Sounds like a good reason to avoid it.
Why focus your perspective on gaining wealth?
Aren't there more important things than that in our brief lives?
I guess it's the same reason creationists prefer to study their own creation science rather than anything that challenges their already held beliefs.
It's just my own personal point of view, but I don't think it's good to avoid learning something new because it might change your opinion about it.
Now I don't mean to be cruel, but he isn't making anything, creating anything or contributing anything to society through this livelihood. He's merely siphoning off the flow. And he wants to talk about perspective? It seems to me that making a living that way is guaranteed to give you a warped perspective.
It's a perspective I'm glad I don't share.
I doubt you can even explain what it is I'm doing. Can you explain how I'm not creating anything? Or contributing anything? Or what flow I'm siphoning off? You're making conclusions off complete ignorance.
I didn't miss it, you did. here, I'll bold it, underline it and put it in red so it's easier for you to catch ...
Then I'll refer to the definition so you might know what that word means ...
primarily (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/primarily) –adverb
1. essentially; mostly; chiefly; principally
Then I'll give you an example that demonstrates a different perspective on wealth ...
I am a graphic designer. My primary focus is on creating print and web solutions for my clients. While I do get paid, money is neither the source of my production and creativity, nor the material with which I work. It is a by-product of my labors, not the sole focus of them.
Thus I have a different perspective on money and wealth than itcheroni.
I hope that clarifies that for you.
If you take a single word out of a context, it's going to be...out of context. In that sense, I was using primarily, in the sense that my primary strategy is using time rather than up or down movements.
I understand the prejudice people have against financial people, because I used to have them too. I face a lot of ignorance in a lot of other activities I enjoy too. I make money off what I do, just like you do in your field. But what I do is understand economics and the mechanism of options. If I didn't understand economics, I would lose money. That's not something I would primarily want to do.

I could believe this is you think back to the story last month about Apple being in the process of acquiring a company to revamp the notification system.
http://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/11/apple-acquiring-ios-developer-to-revamp-notification-system/
4 months would be too steep to create/test a major change like that from scratch, so if the notification story is true (and the "no comment" from Boxcar in the original source makes me believe it is) it would strengthen the case for a Fall release.

lol sorry... just saying that products dont necessarily have to wait the 6 month grace period before bein upgraded.
iMac was drastically upgraded from G5 to Core Duo after just 3 months.
Could be the same with the current line-up.

Pretty textbook case of biting the hand that feeds you here, even if Samsung business units are separated.
Obviously you mean Samsung is biting the hand that feeds them as they are ripping off their biggest screen component customer.
You are right it is dumb for Samsung to have done that, and I am sure the people who run the screen business are pissed as hell at the idiots in the cell phone and tablet division who pissed off their best customer.
In case you don't understand how business dynamics work, which I suspect you don't, Apple is one of the biggest, if not the biggest customer of Samsung Corp in existence. Another division of that company did something that really pissed off this important customer, enough that the customer ended up suing because of it.
Samsung is the one who screwed up here not Apple... and why people think Apple should not protect its design rights, well I don't understand.
Some people seem to think that Samsung's logic is "Well they are our customer so it is okay if we steal from them" is just in outerspace.

Hint: Intel is your winner, AAPL. Understand that.
Edit: for you young'ins, this a panel of IBM G5 processors. Specifically designed for Apple. The processor partnership was supposed to be groundbreaking.
Soon after, Apple went begging to Intel and, well, what's the processor brand in the Mac you are reading this on?
Funny you should ask, I'm running a dual Core A5 ARM chip on this here iPad.
Additionally, I would love a Mac Mini running Lion Server on a super efficient and low power ARM chip.
